Chicago- Big Surprise

We went to Chicago this week for a sports convention.
We stayed downtown and expected Chicago to be an ordinary big city.
It was not.
It was the best city we have ever been to.
It was so "hip."
Great restaurants, Giordanos, and Gibsons, to be exact.
Great shopping on the miracle mile.
Not your ordinary swampy brown city river.
A green Lake michigan!
The city was great.
We are going back for an extended time!

Jeremy,
I'm glad you liked our great city. You have great taste about our fine city and I also read your reviews on the Caribbean board about Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda which is one of my favorite places to vacation.
Thanks for your input and visit Chicago again.

Chris-
I have been traveling so much recently.
We actually just went to the rosemont convention center for the national sports show.
But we toured the city for 3 days.
We saw a show at Second city, so funny!
We saw Wayne Newton (at least 20 face lifts) at gibsons.
We took a ride with Ray st ray, the singing cab driver.
wow that was crazy!
Today we were going to do a boat tour but could not do it due to our flight.
We walked the miracle mile today, and saw some great places. We noticed the buildings were so beautiful compared to nyc. The people are also friendly. If we stopped to look at a map, someone would come and ask if we needed help.
Giordanos is the best pizza ive ever had, and gibsons is the best steak, and since pizza and steak are 2 of my favorite foods, it all worked out!
chicago makes my city, Dc, look so dull!
Enjoy your great city, I hope to be back for spring.

Jeremy,
We do have an awesome city. You definitely did a lot while in Chicago. I also love Gibsons and the great restaurants and nightlife.
It's such a liveable city with a cosmopolitan flair.

No suprise to The Kals!
We will be there starting this Thursday for our "umpteenth" Chicago trip.

Cubs one weekend/Sox during the week.

Got the Westin on No.Mich for $75/night.
Prepping for a return to Gino's East and maybe Lou Malnati's, and maybe splitting a piece of carrot cake at Gibson's w/ the "hulagirl family"?

Air and Water Show is in town. Hold on to yer hats if the Blue Angels do a fly-by!
Should be a blast...It IS "my kinda town".
Kal
