Chesapeake City MD Questions
We are heading down to this northern Chesapeake Bay area for the first time in a few weeks. My husband's one and only wish is "to eat too many crabs." So, first question: Do you have crab house recommendations in Chesapeake City or nearby? Has to be the brown paper on the table, hammer in hand, sit for hours variety. Second & third questions: There is a state park nearby, with beaches, according to my AAA guide book. Can you really swim in the Chesapeake? And do you need a MD license to fish in the bay if you rent a boat? Thanks for any information you can provide about these questions, or general info. about the area.

Yes, you can swim in the Bay but only at Sandy Point Park. That's located right off of route 50 on the west side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. You do not need a license to fish off a boat, but there are limits to what you catch. Whomever you rent a boat from should be able to tell what the creel limits, etc. are or you can check Maryland's website for info. There are lots of crab houses in the area, but I'm afraid I don't have any personal recommendations. Any body else?
