Cheeca Lodge/ Islemorada

anyone stayed here?? Interested in the building/room layout. which may be better than others? Main lodge or newer, etc?

I stayed there several years ago. We had a waterfront unit but paid dearly for it. Some of the other units have views of the golf course and some only have views of the parking lot.

The layout is similar to a campus in that the activities and main lodge/restaurants are near the ocean. The majority of the lodgings are set back away from the water in townhouse or condo style buildings...It was not what I expected for such pricey rooms. I think when you go to the Keys, you want that Jimmy Buffett feel, and there are other accomodations that provide that better than Cheeca...
