I would think a cab from Laguardia to Park Slope would cost MORE than 20.00
(JFK is closer to Bklyn than Laguardia is).
Why not call a car service for an estimate? Try Carmel (1-800-9CARMEL)
or TelAviv (1-212-777-7777--don't know if they have a toll free number, but check
http://www.telavivlimo.com/ for info and discount coupons; Carmel website also has coupons http://www.carmelcarservice.com/)

One more thing: The cheap way to go, of course is by public transportation. Look at the transit authority's info at
http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/service/airport.htm
for connection info. I'm not familiar with the trains from Park Slope to Astoria (though someone here probably can figure it out) but I suspect the whole trip would take an hour or so.
From the M60 bus starting point in
Manhattan (Broadway & 106th) to LaGuardia takes about an hour, FYI.
As far as other money savings tips, what are you looking for specifically and when will you be here?
For example, there are free concerts in NY virtually everynight over the summer.
YOu might want to post that part of your request separately as many people will not even look at a "LaGuardia to Bklyn" post...
Hope this helps!

Nyer--I beg to differ...
I live in Brooklyn, and taking a car service to LaGuardia costs me $15-$18, and taking a car service to JFK costs me $26-$30.
Bonnie, public transportation from LaG to Brooklyn (subway, bus) is a huge pain. Do yourself a favor, and either get a car service (call for estimates) or take a cab...Good luck...dee.
