Charlotte Fodorites! Help With Dresscode!

Going to the opening night of The Nutcracker at the Blumenthal Center next Friday night.

How dressy an affair is this?

We are so casual at the beach that I've forgotten how to dress up.

I have a mid thigh black sequin dress. Would that be too dressy?

Suit for other half?

I can't help you with the fashion question.

BUT-how did you get MrGT to go along with this?

HA! My secret weapon.

My stepdaughter told her dad it was what she wanted for her birthday!

As dressy (or not) as you care to make it. The, ahem, elderly types will be there w/their furs on (even if it is 70 degrees outside) & the parents w/kids will be much more casual. If you are doing dinner first, let the restaurant be your guide.

Thanks Brutforce. I think I'll go with the short black sequins and suit and no tie for him.

The more expensive the clothes, the less formal you need to be ;-)!

Festive-cazh sounds perfect.
