Charleston, SC first time
We are about to spend time in Charleston and are looking for "must see" and "must do
advice. I have read all of the previous postings and they are very helpful. I am wondering if anyone recommends a boat tour? And if so, is there one that is "better" than another?
We are a couple in our 50's, planning on walking tours and a few driving excursions around the Charleston area. We have about a week of time and are very excited to be going south, as this is new to us.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I highly recommend a carriage tour first thing. It's a great way to get your bearings. The boat tour depends on what you want to see. Most people like the Ft Sumter tour. Do you want to do that or take the one around Morris Island? It just depends on your interests.
One of the out of the way places is the Center for Birds of Prey in Awendaw. They do demonstrations a couple of days a week.
The weather right now is gorgeous. I know you'll love our great city.

Hello, Suewoo
I have read all of your postings and find them so helpful. Thank you for the information. We have not yet decided all the places we will see, but we are definitely starting with a carriage tour. I cannot wait to see Charleston!

I agree with the carriage ride! A sunset dinner cruise by SpiritLine Cruises is always nice. You can enjoy a nice dinner, live entertainment and see Charleston from the Harbour.
Here also is a link for "must sees" of the area. It has a Top 10 Best list that is voted by locals and other tourists:

Hope this helps and have a great time!
