My mother and I will be in Charleston in April on a day when the Rutledge Avenue tour is available. We don't have a lot of time in Charleston but we like gardens and wonder about this particular street and tour. Thanks.

We will also be in Charleston in April and are wondering which tour to take - the garden tours look interesting - has anyone here taken these tours? There are several to choose from.

We did one a couple of years ago. You can get a listing of what is offered on what days from the Tourism Office, and you need to book early as they sell out pretty quickly.

One thing, try not to dawdle at your first stops. We had to go through the last houses at a run. Also, we were told not to take any photos, even in the gardens.

The only tour that fits our schedule is the Rutledge Avenue tour--I'd like to know more about the gardens on the tour and what the homes were like. Thanks.

Are there any good, casual restaurants close to the Harbourview Hotel or French Quarter in that take reservations? Thanks.
