Charleston at Christmas time?

My mom is thinking of ideas for a 10 year anniversary and she is considering Charleston. She and her husband like history, restaurants, and more than likely they will want a good walking destination because they don't normally rent a car. The only hang up is her husband likes warm weather and I am not sure what temps are like in mid to late December. The other option might be a beach in Florida, but I kind of think they would be bored because they are not hang out at the beach kind of people. Any comments?

Temps would probably be mild. Charleston is a great city for history, walking and romance. Perfect destination for them.

Charleston is a lovely destination at Christmas. I was there a few years back at that time and it was unseasonably cold (upper 30s, low 40s), so as long as they're prepared if they get that kind of weather, they should really enjoy it. Normal Dec temps are in the high 50s, low 60s.

Thanks! They live in South Texas so that temperature range is very similar to what they normally experience. I haven't checked the airlines, but I assume Charleston has a major airport? They will be looking at flights from Houston.

Charleston doesn't really get cold until January or February. The average daily high in December is probably around 65-70 degrees.

Christmas is a wonderful time of year in Charleston.
