gato, here is an interesting site about phones in Japan. It is called Trends in Japan so browse the whole site, it is fun.
I would think that they also make throw aways, they are so ahead with their phones!

If you go to the Asia board, you'll find that Big Feat is there right now, and has been posting about his inability to buy a prepaid phone.
