Cedar Point - less crowded on a Sunday rather than Saturday?

Hello Fodorites!

Does it make any difference to go to Cedar Point on a Saturday or a Sunday in mid- summer? I'd bet it's just as crowded on either day, but maybe someone can share their opinions on this. I know that they are open one hour later on Saturday, but they will still be open till 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, so if the crowds would be less on Sunday, it might be better to go then. I'm not sure.

On the other day I'd like to go to Put-In-Bay. Is there as much to do and experience at Put-In-Bay on a Sunday as there is on a Saturday?

Thanks for any information or opinions!

Sandi - Cedar Point can be busy any day of the week in midsummer, especially on the weekend. Saturday or Sunday seems to make no difference. If you must go once the kiddies get out of school the only weekend I recommend is the first Sunday after school lets out in June. This seems to be a day where most people are tied up with graduation parties. The next best Sunday is the Sunday after kids go back to school in August. Weekends in late August and September can be the best time to visit the park. Otherwise, wear comfy shoes, you'll be in line for the coasters for hours.
As for Put-in Bay, I think that town is going all day every day, but I usually go on Saturdays. The Jet Express has much later trips back then.

I worked at Cedar Point while going to college and the least crowded day was Friday followed by Thursday. Saturday, Sunday and Monday were the worst days for crowds and lines. If you go before June and after September on the bonus weekends the crowds are non-existent. Cedar Point is now open weekends till Halloween.

As for Put-In-Bay, it depends what weekend you are going. Typically, the weekend after a long holiday weekend is slow. June is slow. July and August are the worst. Midweek is great, no crowds.

I agree weekdays are better but if you have to go on a weekend park near the back of the park there is a back entrance and start in the back of the park and work your way to the front, while most people are doing the opposite .Buy your tickets before hand so you dont have to wait in line for that. Put-in- bay is fun any day ,more crowded on the weekends if night life is your thing the bars are packed on weekends avoid holiday weekends. There are also cute shops, merry-go round , no beaches just public swimming pool. golf cart and bike rental, a few site seeing tours , and the monument. Kellys island is also nice more laid back not the same party enviroment . Have a great time.
