Catalina Rental Houses

Has anyone ever rented a house in Catalina? SO is planning on chartering a boat to take his kids, dad and brothers this summer and sailing around Catalina. We are not quite to the point where we want to vacation with all the kids together but I was thinking if we had a house in Catalina at the same time, it might be a nice compromise. Does anyone know of a good company> I'd probably bring my 3 kids and some of their friends so we would need a place that sleeps at least 6-8.

Thanks, Maggi. I don't see #2205 on the list. Do you know which one it is?

You can actually search by # if you go to the VRBO home page, but #2205 brought up a house in Orlando. Maybe there was a number transposed?

Maggi, that is the house I've been looking at. Thank you! Did you stay at that house? Was it crowded? It looks lovely!

Well, that house is already booked for when we need it but there were others listed. I'll keep looking.

No, we didn't stay there, but we have rented other homes in various locations from vrbo.com. We did a day trip to Catalina from Long Beach and enjoyed it very much.

Cat it sounds like fun. I have not stayed on Catalina since I was about 16 years old... so no help. I DID stay in a cool house though - it was HUGE. Keep your eyes on your kids.. I managed to get into a lot of trouble

Somehow, my boys manage to get into trouble no matter where we are!!! At least on Catalina, it won't include joyriding.

Cat - I am sure you will have a blast! I went as an adult on a cruise through dh's company - and we went Kayaking - it was fun.

When I was 16 we stayed in a big old house not on the beach but it was really cool...it is a small town from what I remember and nothing is too far away from the water.
