Carmel Hotel
Hello all,
Am planning on staying one night in Carmel on my honeymoon in May 2006. I would appreciate recommendations for a good, comfortable hotel in Carmel itself, that is a short walk to most things and has parking available. Tall order? We would be looking to pay 100 - 200 per night.
Thank you for your time,
Paul

I've had good luck with the Lobos Lodge, on the main drag (close to everything) and a short walk to the beach.

I very much liked the BW Carmel Bay View Inn, which has fireplaces and country-style furnishings. All was refurbished just 2 years ago; there is adequate parking, a continental breakfast, and easy walking to restaurants such as Piatti. A grocery store is just down the street.

We enjoyed a very nice stay at La Playa in Carmel. A bit over $200, but our room was oceanview and included breakfast at the Terrace Grill and a complimentary bottle of Morgan Pinot Noir delivered to the room upon arrival.
It is a Historic Hotel on the National Register with beautiful grounds and walkind distance to shops and the ocean. I think it would be very nice for a honeymoon celebration. Congrats and enjoy Carmel! ***kim***

www.laplayahotel.com is the website. They are offering special Internet rates and the website shows the residential view rooms starting at $180. Hope this helps! ***kim***

LAPLAYA is nice and they do an outstanding happy hour that the locals love.
THE PINE INN is another historic place. It is located on Ocean Boulevard so you walk outside and you are at the shops. Good restaurant and parking is behind the hotel...a tough thing to get in downtown Carmel. I am sure they have a web site for you to look at.

Vagabond's House is a B&B, quaint, outrageously charming and romantic, near everything, own parking lot, wine and snacks early evening. All rooms have private entrances off a central courtyard with seating areas and a little waterfall. For a honeymoon restaurant, try Casanova, less than 2 blocks away.
