Carmel, CA... Please Help!

My husband and I are supposed to stay at the Cobblestone Inn in Carmel the second week of August. However, there may be a change of plans and we might have to change our accomodations. Has anyone ever heard of the Normandy Inn or the Candlelight Inn? Or, if anyone can recommend another place, I'd really appreciate it. Tickle Pink Motor Inn is booked solid; I tried them already. Thanks in advance!

I was in Carmel this past March and stayed at the Adobe Inn. It was a great downtown location and the accommodations were quite adequate (fireplace, balcony, etc.). A great downtown hotel is the Pine Inn. I'm sure you'll find that most hostelries in Carmel are above average.

We have stayed at the Candlelight Inn twice. I like the place, particularly the location near the water and not too far from town center. The morning food was good. The eating and living room area is large and very comfortable. The place is more like a B&B. It is hard to get reservations, however. The only way we ever got a room was to call after 12 noon on the day we checked in. While it has been some years since we were there, if it hasn't changed, I would choose it if rooms were available. I thought rates were reasonable when we were there last.

FORGET MY LAST MESSAGE--I MIXED UP THE NAME. It was the Sandpiper Inn that I was thinking of in the previous message. I am so sorry to mislead you. I don't know if we ever stayed at the Candlelight Inn. However, we have stayed in many places in Carmel that I don't remember.

Too bad about the Tickle Pink. I have stayed there and it is wonderful. There is the Highlands Inn which is on the same property as the Tickle Pink. It is expensive but very nice. A nice restaurant if it is still there is Anton and Michelle's.
