Can anyone tell me a car rental agency with good rates for San Diego in July. So far everything I have checked is pretty high. I would also be interested in internet sites with good rates. We are staying on Coronado Island so a car is a must.

I was in San Diego last July and went with Alamo. They're like 2 streets away from the airport - a bus will pick you up and bring you back. I had a great experience with them. The people at the desk were friendly and patient with us and we even got a free upgrade. Check them out, check out Travelocity, and better yet if you are a member of either Costco or BJ's, they offer excellent discounts.

BTW, Are you staying at the Del? That whole island is beautiful, but the Del is MOST impressive.

No, we decided to stay at the Marriott Coronado Island. Do you know anything about this resort?

marriott is suppose to be great. the only advantage the del has over the marriott is the beach is right out front. but, considering there are hundreds of tourists going to see the hotel each day, i'd rather stay at the marriott and walk to the beach.
