Car Rental
Anyone out there ever use Hotwire for car rental? Have only used one time; reasonable rates, however car was not a newer model and had many miles logged. Is this typical of Hotwire? I have to rent in about one week and would like to go ahead and get reserved online ASAP...suggestions?? (renting out of Albany NY)

Cars you book on Hotwire come from one of these 5 agents - Avis, Alamo, Budget, Hertz and National.
My experience with renting via Hotwire and Priceline is that you are basically treated the same as if you book via the agent directly. If you don't like a car in the lot, ask for another one.

I think you're a little confused. I've used Hotwire before, and Hotwire is not itself a rental car company. They uses 5 major rental car companies (Hertz, National, Avis, Budget, Alamo).
So if you've received a "older" car, it's an issue with the rental car company, not with Hotwire.

like everyone has said. used them in california last year and got a fantastic price from one of the majors, Hotwire was about $50 less than the agency price BUT you do pay in advance... depends on how flexible you want to be... good luck.
