car 2 go
I don't work for this company or have anything to do with them but while I was out and about today I saw a lot of little car2go cars. They are little electric cars you can drive around in what looks like a limited area but here in San Diego, it would make sense because one really needs a car.
Do you have them in your city?
Have you used them?

I love fish tacos, I live in San Diego and know that it's difficult to get around to some areas without a car. Usually I suggest that ppl rent a car while visiting but wondering if this is a viable alternative.
They are really expensive on a daily basis but maybe the hourly pays off when we consider parking etc. Just curious. I have a car and won't be using this method but it may be good for a visitor.

It took me thirty seconds to find out this info on this company:
1) In North American, they are available in Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, Austin, Miami, Portland, San Diego, and Washington DC.
2) Cost to apply for this company is $35.
3) Cost is $14 per HOUR, plus tax, plus a mileage fee if you drive over 150 miles in a day.
4) You pay for gas unless you can find a station that takes the Wright Express Card.
Let's compare this to the cost of a one-day pass on mass transit:
San Diego, $5, and a four-day pass is $15.
Portland, five one-day passes cost $25.
Miami, $5, and a seven-day pass is $26.
Vancouver, $9(C)
Toronto, $10.50(C)
Washington DC $14.
Austin, between $1 and $5.50, depending on how much of the system you want to ride. A 31-day, all-inclusive pass costs less than getting two hours with Car2Go.
Seems to be you'd be better off riding mass transit in all of these cities.

The problem with mass transit in San Diego is that it's horrible.
Thinking that a pass for $5 will get you back to the hotel from La Jolla if you don't check the bus schedules will cost you 20-30 for a taxi.
We thought of taking mass transit to the airport. The problem is the bus doesn't run at convenient times to do this and it can take an hour and a half for a 15 minute drive.
