the best breakfast place (actually very good for dinner too) is the Mad Batter at the Carroll Inn - I think it is on Jackson Street. Also for seafood Two Mile Landing on the road to Wildwood is a fun, excellent place for crabs etc. Have fun!!

Mount Washington Inn in the Victorian district is very good
and a very pretty place for lunch or dinner.

410 Bank St serves a most memorable meal
BYO so you can get wine, etc at the liquor store in town
all 4 of my party was thrilled; not inexpensive but well worth it: seafood, vegetarian, beef, etc all done and served in an eclectic fashion
definitely NOT your local fish house!!

The Ebbitt Room located in the Virginia Hotel on Jackson Street is excellent for dinner. Piano music, coffee on the porch...very nice. I have recommended it to several friends and they loved it.

I have lived in Cape May all my life and probably been to almost all of the resturants. I recommend the Lobster House. It is at the foot of the Cape May bridge when you come off of the Garden State Parkway. The seafood is wonderful and they have a large selection of other foods to choose from. The Two-Mile is also worth it. They have seafood and a large selection of other foods. If you have any other questions feel free to e-mail me. Jessica at the Queen Victoria Bed and Breakfast.

I would recommend 410 Bank Street. It specializes in New Orleans, French and Carribean food.
The food and atmosphere are really good. Although it does not have a liquour license. But I think you can bring your own wine.

Water's Edge -- looks like a HoJo's from the outside but unbelievably fine food and great wine list. At the end of the Boardwalk

The best meal we've ever had was at The Waters Edge in Cape May...The best!!Try Mcglades on the boardwalk next to the convention center, overlooking the ocean, excellent breakfasts!!

The Chalfonte Inn dining room on the night they're having crabcakes. The best I've ever had, including ones that cost about as much just for the crabcake as Chalfonte charged for the whole meal.

Hands down.....The Lobster House. If you're going for the seafood you MUST go there. Atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired--not your typical Cape May Victorian resturant. My parents have been going there for 30 years and my husband and I will probably do the same! Ejnoy!

Cape May has a lot of great seafood - revious replies here have hit on most of them. BUT, if you want great seafood in a family dining atmosphere that won't break the bank, try some of the seafood specialties at Mangia Mangia Italian Restaurant.

Watch out for the Lobster House. The food is good but they don't take reservations. We've been told an hour wait for 2 at 9 on a Fri. night in Oct. We like to sit out back on the docks and get take out from the raw bar or seafood store.
