Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket in October?
Hi there,
My husband and I were thinking of taking a road trip to the Cape Cod area in early October (first week). Will things still be open in Cape Cod? Would it be worth an overnight trip to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket that time of year (if so, which island?)? We are in our early 30s, enjoy good restaurants, nature and art museums and will be coming from NYC.
Thanks!

Either Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket would be well worth visiting in the Fall.
As a lover of visiting Martha's Vineyard year round I can vouch for the beauty of the fall season on the island.
The crowds have departed, the weather is (generally) temperate, restaurants and shops are open, and the natural beauty of the island is most enjoyable.
Unless you wish to sun and swim, the only things unlikely in the Fall; many consider it the very best time to visit the Cape and the Islands. And, it's entirely possible early October will allow for swimming!
I would recommend a minimum of a two day stay on the Vineyard. Although a day trip could give you a taste of the island.
