Cape Cod
Debating a trip to Cape Cod over the 4th of July weekend. We've never been to New England, let alone The Cape. It will be me, my husband, and our two boys (3 and 2). Any recommendations on which town/village to stay in? We want easy access to family friendly restaurants and activities that we can all do together. TIA!

What they said, plus ...
The closer you get to P'town, the rougher and colder the water gets. With two little kids, you'll probably want mid-Cape beaches (or bayside) where the water is calmer and warmer.
I think the Skaket Beach area in Orleans might be what you're looking for. However, as noted, 4th of July is way busy.

Personally, I think of Hyannis as the commercial center...big box stores, etc.
When we took our kids to the Cape we always wanted near the National Seashore with its bike trails. Wellfleet, Truro, Provincetown are my favorite areas....

Chatham is one of my favorite Cape destinations as there is little to no commercialism and you get the real Cape Cod feel. I agree with SusieQQ and Hyannis would be my last choice. Provicentown is a unique spot at the tip of the Cape and National seashore beaches are magnificent.

Be prepared for a lot of traffic getting on and off the Cape for 4th of July weekend. In addition to the towns mentioned
above for small kids look at towns on Nantucket Sound and the Bay side for calmer and warmer water. Yarmouth, Dennis, Harwichport have good beaches and calmer water. Skaket Beach in Orleans mentioned earlier is great for little kids.
