We will be on Sand Key for a week at Thanksgiving. Where should we play golf?

Sand Key is a small island off of Clearwater Beach, Florida.

I did a search for "Sand Key Florida golf" and came up with one item. I think it was the tides.

Sand Key is just a tiny spit of land, no room for golf--you'll have to go to mainland Clearwater or St. Petersburg. For a good municipal course, though a drive, try Mangrove Bay Golf Course--normally crowded, or Airco Flite Golf, where it's less crowded, but not quite as good. They're working on improvments, which doesn't help you! Vinoy has a course, but open only to hotel guests or by membership. Further north, Saddlebrook and Innisbrook...sorry, don't know if those are open to the public, or even further, 1 1/2 hours north, WorldWood--beautiful, a distance, but that is open to the public!

Check out Cove Cay Country Club in Clearwater. Nice course.

there are dozens of great courses in pinellas county - best municipal course is mangrove bay, about 25 mins east of the beaches; best semi-private course is bardmoor, about 20 mins. east; cove cay is fun, but I think they go private around the time of your visit. Enjoy!
