Camping with a pop-up camper in Yellowstone
Hi, we are a bit confused. We have reservations for a 30' camping site at Canyon Campground in Yellowstone. However, we just purchased a new pop-up camper. The camper is 21' with sides extended. Our mini-van is 16'...does this mean we truly cannot camp in a 30' camping site?
Any words of wisdom?
Thanks!

It's going to depend on the campsite. If you have hang over room at the site, you can back up to the end and probably have enough room because the bed slide out will hang over. You aren't going to be able to stay connected to the mini van with most pop-ups so you might be able to park it kiddy corner across the front of the site.
I haven't made reservations in Yellowstone in a while, but you might call and let them know that you just purchased a new camper and it's longer than the site you reserved and see if they can get you a larger site. From what I remember about Canyon Campground is it's wooded, mountain terrain. We couldn't get level in our 30 ft. motorhome and they let us change our reservations to another campground.
You might ask your question over on the RV.net forums.
