Camping sites-PA, NJ MD or NY
Hi everyone,
Can anyone recommend a camping site for tents in any of these states? We are looking for a clean safe site. We would also want this to be on the beach or in the mountains with lots of things to do!
Thank you

I'm going to post URLs for several things of interest.
First, Assateague in MD. http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclan...ssateague.html Probably all booked up for the summer, but you might check. Great park, great campground.
Delaware. Has two great ocean-based state parks. The best is probably Cape Henlopen. Next would be Delaware Seashore. http://www.destateparks.com/Activiti...ng/camping.htm . The Cape is superb. And the Cape May/Lewes ferry drops you off within a mile of the park entrance.
PA has some great state parks. Not beachy, but a lot of forest location. http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/statepar...on/camping.htm . Price is right, and they're well-kept.

I've camped at a lot of the Pocono (PA) area state parks. For tent camping, I really like the Pickerel Point campground at Promised Land State Park. There are walk in sites right on the edge of the lake. Everything is heavily wooded and its really beautiful there. Also, Locust Lake has some nice sites on the north side of the lake. I'd recommend the ones furthest from the lake as these are farther away from each other and more private feeling.
