Cameras in TV Shows?

The web site for Hollywood TV show tapings says "No cameras allowed in the studio".
Do they relly mean that? In NYC, The View, Rosie O'Donnell, etc. just said "no pictures during the show."

Anyone have experience?

Why yould you think they would not mean it? Sometimes you can get pictures with the guest or host outside the studios but otherwise they are pretty firm about their rules.

So, they let you carry cameras around the studio? Or is there a "luggage check" outside the studio? Or did you just keep the camera in your pocket?

If they say "are not allowed" do not bring it in. After 911 everyone is much more careful.

We went to Letterman and Regis last week in NYC. Letterman staff said no photos of any kind in the studio bldg., but we didn't have to get rid of our cameras. At Regis, they did a very thorough security check, but we were allowed to take photos during the taping! No flashes allowed though, so we all had to figure out how to disarm our flashes.
