Our favorites include:
The Sea Chest on Moonstone Drive, they have the best calamari steak I've ever tasted - great oyster dishes as well.
The Sow's Ear - on Main Street. American style food, with a great atmosphere.
Robins - absolutely wonderful for lunch or dinner. Imaginative blending of cuisines, with great curries (and I'm not really even a curry fan!!)

We didn't love Brambles. It was OK but it wouldn't be my first choice for a romantic dinner. We were there in Feb 05. It's a large restaurant with several interconnecting rooms and we sat in what I think was the main room overlooking the deck.

I'm with those who didn't really enjoy Brambles, although it does have a good reputation. Admittedly, it has been a while since we ate there. While there was nothing wrong with the food, we just found it to be ordinary.
For us, the most romantic thing is to stay on Moonstone Drive, and dine there. That way we can enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner w/o worrying about driving, then take a lovely stroll along the ocean back to our room. As I posted before, The Sea Chest is on Moonstone Drive. Another Moonstone Drive restaurant that I didn't mention is the Moonstone Beach Bar and Grill. It has outdoor dining and decent food.

Bear in mind that the Sea Chest doesn't take reservations.
I love Robin's but I don't know that it would be an anniversary place for me (it is a small place with tables a bit close together, kind of cosy homy style).
I've only walked by the Sow's Ear, but it looks like an anniversary-type atmosphere.

We have several excellent meals at the Sow's Ear. It is a very romantic restaurant with two fireplaces and an excellent host, Patrick who is there on weekends.
The Sea Chest has good food, but really not a lot of ambiance. Robin's is very nice, we like to dine out on the back patio under the wiseria vines when the weather is nice. I've heard great things about the Black Cat, also which is a fairly new bistro there. Happy Anniversary! ***kim***
