Is a troll buster anything like a scum buster? I think scum buster might be better.

Come to think of it, I believe I smell a troll! This thread has all the makings and/or shortcomings of a troll posting.

Some of you nice folks seem not to have a clue as to what a true Fodor's troll is. It is an outrageous fake, made-up situation designed to sucker people to offer lots of advice on personal issues. Not a joke post. Not a rude post. A fake one. That's what we're talking about.

Websterr a malicious troll who's purpose is to get everyone into a big fight. He then watches, jumping in occasionally to stir up the flames, always portraying himself/herself as an innocent being misunderstood or abused. Meantime he can watch the "regulars" take sides and trash eachother.
Almost every post above has been in essence shown up on fodor's forums in the last few days. These trolls are becomming all to frequent. It would be nice to know how to deal with them.

A troll dangles a seemingly innocent and nice piece of bait in front of you. But it has a big nasty hook inside. If you take the bait, you can get hurt.

Just looked around and this is one of the few long threads that was not started by a troll. Troll busting could be a growth industry!

Websters dictionary definition:

"a lure or a line with its lure and hook used in trolling." ie. to catch fish(like us)
Of the one's above Web Stur's is the most accurate.

A troll buster is one out to stop a troller from practicing his sport.
