You are more likely to have a wreck and die, or have a plane crash and die, that to fall off of Angels Landing. I believe there have been more people killed in The Narrows than Angels Landing in the last 50 years.
I will say this, do careful when the trail is crowded.

The official count for deaths on the trail is 9 for the parks history. 8 of those have occured in the past 25 years. 2 of those were listed as suspicious (someone pushed someone over, including a hsuband pushing a wife). 2 others were considered horseplay accidents. There have been 7 automobile related deaths in the past 25 years.
It is a fairly safe hike, and yes it is Fantastic!!

I'm back after a great deal of revamping and rethinking our Ca trip. I now need precious advice on the central coast. We have 3 nights to spare in this area. I was thinking of 2 nights in monterey area and 1 night in SLB at Madonna's Inn for a wild experience. Thought we could also catch a hearst castle tour the next morning and than proceed to San Clemente.
I`ve decided to forfeit Santa Barbara but not sure if that`s a good idea. Help is needed considering we only have 3 nights and so so much to see.
Thanks Helen
