Cali Coast Best Picture Spots
Hi all,
Thanks for helping us decide how to progess down the CA coast in my previous thread.
We've decided to hit the road in San Fran on a Sunday, take 1 all the way to Morro, stay the night there, get up and make our way up 1 to Monterey, stay there and make our way back up to San Fran on Tuesday night...
Any advice on best places to take cliffs/crags/ocean/beaches/scenery pics are appreciated. Let us know your favorite spots so we know when to take driving breaks....
Thanks so much in advance

In San Francisco, the California Legion of Honor Museum has stunning Golden Gate and bay views. Across the bridge at the Marin Headlands are great views of San Francisco and the craggy coast. http://www.nps.gov/goga/marin-headlands.htm
The Cliff House http://www.cliffhouse.com/and Beach Chalet http://www.beachchalet.com/ have great views on a clear day, and are in interesting buildings.
Pacifica, and Maverick's Beach http://www.maverickssurf.com/
Near Half Moon Bay, the Miramar and the Moss Beach Distillary http://www.miramarbeachrestaurant.com/ or http://www.mossbeachdistillery.com/ are cool old places to stop for a drink or meal, and some picture taking.
The town of Half Moon Bay is a nice diversion for strolling and shopping, and the San Benito Deli has delicious sandwiches on thick fresh baked bread. http://www.sanbenitohouse.com/the-san-benito-deli/
I love the view from the skybuckets at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk http://www.beachboardwalk.com/, and the small town of Capitola has pretty beach scenes, and charming cottages along the river, as well as the picturesque Shadowbrook Restaurant. http://www.shadowbrook-capitola.com/
In Pescadero, stop at Duarte's. http://www.duartestavern.com/ . The old cemetery in town is picturesque.
Basically, everywhere you see something intriguing, stop and explore. What a wonderful trip!

Unfortunately, there is no edit function, so we locals will have to live with your egregious faux pas
I second the Pfeiffer Beach recommendation. I think I might have posted this for you on another thread, but Pfeiffer Beach is really hard to find from the road, so I'll post it again. It's my "report" on a day trip we took down that way last September, and it includes really detailed directions. I might have linked to some pictures of Pfeiffer Beach that I took with my cell phone, not sure:

Using 'San Fran & Cali' makes your message very upsetting to the locals.
Same with "Frisco", but the OP was not guilty of that!
