Cab ride-SFO to downtown

Hi all,

How much should a cab ride from SFO airport to downtown Hilton towers cost roughly? Don't mind paying what it costs, just don't want to get ripped off by a rouge cab driver. Leaving next week.

Thanks!

I hope you mean a rogue cab driver! A rouge cab driver would be red all over!! (Just messing with you, Jeff...no offense intended).

If I remember correctly, SF cabs are fairly expensive but not outrageous. I always take the Super Shuttle when I can so I'm not sure about the exact cost.

The fare should be in the $30-$35 range for downtown. Ride is about 30 minutes. Make sure you use a clearly marked cab and that the driver starts his meter when you get in. You should be fine.

Thanks Jim for the info on the super shuttle. I checked it out and it's $11.50 each way pp to downtown. And the seats probably won't be as sticky as in a cab!

Jeff:

Oftentimes the super shuttle has numerous stops (just so you're aware of this) and it's usually cheaper to buy a round trip ticket.

I'm not sure where you're from; but actually, every cab I've ridden in in SF have been clean and never sticky. Plus if there is really a problem, you can always report it to the taxi commission (just get the driver's number and cab number).
