Cab Fare - O'Hare to State/Ohio
Hi,
I was wondering the approximate cab fare from O'Hare to State/Ohio street. The City of Chicago web page states around $29 depending on travel conditions. I wasn't sure how recent that suggestion was. There are 3 of us so it seems a cab would be cheaper than the Airport Express (BTW... we don't want to do the CTA train downtown... too much luggage, etc.) Anyone with recent experience, I would appreciate knowing what your fare was. Thanks.

Pam: I would chance the cab. It might be more than $29, but with 3 people it will be worth it regardless. The Taste of Chicago is in Grant Part until July 8th or 9th. Between that and some cross town baseball games coming up again, the traffic in the downtown area is very, very bad. If you are coming after
July 11-12 than I would think the cab would be the best bet for sure. It's about $80 (1 way)from O'Hare to my area in the SW suburbs. Limo's are about $50 one way. O'Hare to downtown shouldn't be anywhere near that amount.

It's best to take the cab. Yo can grab it whenever you need it, and you can avoid the prearranged hassles. Plus your cabbie will get you directly there and you won't have to wonder about who you are sharing the ride with. I remember being stuck on a van with a dude who viewed bathing as optional. Boy I was glad my terminal stop was first.
