Busch Gardens or WDW's Animal Kingdom
We are going to Orlando for a theme park adventure week.
We are deciding between AK and Busch Gardens. We are looking for an animal adventure and not roller coaster rides.
Which park offers the best animal exhibits?

Tom, Sounds as if you answered your own question! Busch Gardens has plenty of animals, but it's as much amusement park/roller coaster as it animals. If you're not interested in that aspect, why even think about driving the 1-1 1/2 hrs west for Busch Gardens?
That said, although I've never been on the roller coasters at Busch Gardens, I get more enjoyment from that park than I did from AK--animals, plantings, people watching etc, but if Busch is the only reason you're coming over here and you'll otherwise be in Orlando, then no, I wouldn't consider it! I-4 can be a real headache.

The Central Florida Zoo is very close and very nice. Exit 52 on I-4, near Orlando. http://www.centralfloridazoo.org/
$7 adult/ $3 child
1/2 off Thursday
AK isn't really a zoo; Yes, there are some animals you won't see in many other smaller zoos, but an adventure in animals it is not.
Take a canoe ride on the Suwanee for a real adventure. Ride with 'gators
