burlesque shows
is it just American's that are age obsessed? Should a skilled performer be judged by his or her age just because it's a burlesque Variety(please note variety) show?
And why are most of these comments made by young women, not men? How catty and unsophisticated.

Huh? I guess you're referring to your other post.
Recently, here in Seattle, I went to "Land of Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker 2012" at one of our best nightclubs (The Triple Door).
The ladies were in a wide variety of sizes and shapes, and all of them were young enough to be pleasing when they removed their clothing (though a couple of them who were ravishing in dim pink light were less so when the lights went up).
The best strippers I ever saw were in San Francisco and New York City many years ago. Two of them, who had obviously been shaking their stuff for decades, worked the stage in ways that took full advantage of their years of experience.
But to get back to your question, I would give people latitude to judge performers on any criteria they want. If an over-the-hill performer takes off her clothes revealing sagging skin she shouldn't be upset if somebody notices and comments on it.
