Buena Vista Trip Report
We spent three nights in Buena Vista at the end of July. Went on a full day raft trip through Wilderness Aware...our guide was Katie...very personable and experienced. We also went down to Salina and on two different days rented one inflatable kayak at CKS..downtown at the river. For $90 we had it all day..plus life jackets, paddles for any in our party that wanted to use that one boat. My son and his girlfriend went from Salina in town to Rincon takout, then another day to from Salina to the Valli Bridge takeout. I (60 year old female) went with my son on part of this same route. Wish we would have stayed longer in this area. Also...used the Super 8 in both BV and Salina...both were fine.

I like the Buena Vista and Salida areas - there's just something about them, I guess that they are small and surrounded by mountains and development doesn't seem to be taking them over. Sounds like a fun trip for your family. It's easy to get addicted to Colorado, isn't it?

Hi, I've tent camped at the KOA in BV and enjoyed the location too.
Sharing Cottonwood Hot Springs nearby which is great for soaking after a full day, or just for the soak of it.
