Bryce Canyon falling rocks

I just read on the Bryce Canyon web site that there's been another rock episode. This time some rocks fell and a few people were hit though they appear to be ok.

The Wall Street side of Navajo Loop has been close again.

Now you don't have to decide which side to go down to link up with Queen's Garden.

If the Wall Street side is closed the way it was previously, you'll still be able to go down until a barrier and then back up.

Be careful as loose rocks can hurt.

Hi Myer,

I'm not really surprised to hear this. Southern UT had a big snow year! The more water - the more erosion. Maybe we need to start hiking with helmets!!

Dayle,

That may not be a bad idea.

I'll be there is mid-September with my daughter. Hopefully by then all the loose rocks will be down.

Hi jill, It was still closed when we were there on June 18, but they were fixing it and building retaining walls. You could call the Ranger Station there and they'd be able to update you.

When you start the hike at Sunset Point you'll know if you didn't ask the ranger at the park entrance.

Others there will tell you.

When you start hiking Navajo Loop both side start as one common trail. Then they split. To the right is Wall street and the other side I think they call Twin Bridges.

Both sides are very scenic. So what some people do is go down one side and come up Queen's Garden. Then come back later and go down and back up the other side of Navajo Loop.

The first time I was there the Wall Street side was closed. People went down until the fence where the rock slide took place.
