Have flown Miami to London about 5 times on American, business class. One time they set me up on BA (using my AA frequent flyer miles. Club Class on BA was not half as good as AA business class. The seats were much closer together and not as comfortable, the food was not only mediocre, but was exactly the same as served in coach (except ours was on china, not plastic, and we had nicer silverware). But the topper was that our flight was being delayed out of London due to a mechanical problem. After sitting in the airport about 2 hours, they loaded us on the plane. We heard a mechanic coming out the chute saying "why are they loading when they can't fly this plane?" When we reported that to a steward, we were told we must have heard wrong, everything was fine. They loaded us on, locked the doors, and then told us that there was still a mechanical problem that they were working on, but we couldn't see anyone working on the plane. They then served us lunch --no liquor allowed as we were on the ground. When they had cleared lunch they announced that the plane was not able to fly and they unloaded us. That is when we realized that they did this trick knowing the plane wouldn't fly, so that they could serve us lunch rather than give out those couple of hundred meal vouchers. I can deal with almost anything but total dishonesty and that is what I got from BA. To make matters worse, they completely ripped the handle of my good luggage. We finally got into Miami at about 2 in the morning and there were no agents to help us with anything. We had to find accomodations on our own for the night and American finally booked us a flight to our final destination the next day --but no help from BA. When I reported the luggage problem two days later, they said there was nothing they could do about it as I didn't report it immediately upon arrival. No one could explain to me how I was to do that since their offices were closed and there were no agents anywhere to help.
Never again, BA!!
