I've noticed that some people are really good at ignoring snide posts -- the next person just leaves a message, as if the ugly post had never existed.
With that in mind, I'm recommending a pan-Fodors voluntary policy: Ignore harsh posts. Just leave your message to the original question and move on. Maybe that will discourage some of the impolite posts who seem to just want to get a reaction out of everyone.
