Boston with sports fan
I will be traveling to the Boston area from July 27-31. My 11 year-old daughter is a real sports fan. Other than a tour of Fenway Park, can anyone suggest other things she may like to see/do?
Thanks

I think it takes longer than an hour to get to Springfield, but the Basketball Hall is supposed to be goo - recently renovated.
You say "Boston area" - if you find yourself north of Boston, go to Lowell Spinners (single A) Red Sox farm team game (they are in town 27th and 28th). If you are south, check out schedule for Pawtucket Red Sox. If you are going near Cape Cod, see a Cape League baseball game.

You could visit the Sports Museum - its located at the Fleet Center. Exhibits on the Celtics, Bruins etc.
Unfortunately the Boston Breakers, our professional womens soccer team, is on the road while you are here. But the New England Revolution - the mens pro soccer team - is playing at home down at Foxboro Stadium.
Definately take in the Spinners if you can. Minor league baseball is tons of fun. I took my 7yo and 10yo daughters last week to the Spinners and they loved it.
Basketball Hall of Fame is in Springfield which is a good 2 hrs or more from Boston. But its near Six Flags New England which is the largest amusement park in this area. It might make for a good overnight.
