Boston trip report
My husband had been travelling to Boston almost every week on business trips. And we always had a plan that we would join him for a few days and look around what Boston had to offer. That never happened. Finally when
he resigned from the company it marked the end of the Boston business travel chapter for now.
So what better reason to visit Boston?
Our flight out of Columbus was early Friday morning. So we were up bright and early excited about our trip. We reached
Logan airport at 9am and then took a cab to our hotel to drop our luggage. We were booked a the Club Quarters – the same hotel where my husband had been staying all these years during his business trips. After that we hit the streets right away and our first stop was the Quincy's market.
We enjoyed our morning coffee as we watched street performers who were getting ready and settling down for a wonderful day.
We also walked thru' the shops and galleries at Faneuil Hall and then we were off to the Waterfront park. The harbor
Islands cruise was enticing and we also wanted to get a break from all the walking - we weren't used to that in Columbus.
Aboard the cruise we got a wonderful view of Boston from the waters. The cruise stops along two islands on the trip - Spectacle Island and George's Island.
Most of the people got off at one of these two islands - they are nice places for a day trip or a picnic - but we just took the roundtrip cruise and returned back to Boston harbor.
Then it was time for lunch and it was the food court at Quincy's market. We had a difficult time deciding what we wanted -
The food court had numerous options - anything that you could think of.
After a satisfying lunch we walked towards the hotel for checking in and for some afternoon rest. While husband and my son rested, I was out in the streets of Boston exploring on my own. I walked down Washington Street
and browsed thru' the shops. In the evening we decided to do something that would appeal to children. Our destination was The Children's museum. Since we were tired we opted for carryout dinner in our hotel room.
Next day morning we woke up to find that the skies were overcast and thick fog made it impossible to see a few feet away.
We knew we had to change our plans because this was not the type of weather to explore Boston on foot.
So it would be something for my son again - the Aquarium and we all had a whale of a time watching the fish, the sharks,
the seals, the penguins. We spent all morning there and then walked down to Chinatown for lunch at Penang.
----------------------
We retired to our hotel for the afternoon. In the evening we had reserved the Duck tour at 4pm. We took the metro to join the Duck tour at the Prudential Center.
Dinner was at an Indian restaurant – the Tantrik.
Sunday welcomed us with clear blue skies and we knew it was the perfect day to explore Boston.
Our plan for Sunday was to visit Harvard and MIT. We took the metro to Harvard and strolled around Harvard Square. We also
visited the college halls to get a feel of the pride in the air.
There's a Curious George Square right on harvard Square - a nice place to pick up some children’s books and other stuff.
We decided to skip MIT and returned to Quincy's market for lunch. Lunch was at Durgin's PArk
Sunday evening we had a lot of walking to do. We visited the Meeting house,
the old city hall, Statehouse, Beacon hill. Then for a break to our tired feet we relaxed at the Boston commons while my son enjoyed playing at the Tadpole playground.
Then we visited the public gardens and Chinatown. On our way back to the hotel we stopped at Quincy's market one more time
for some souvenir shopping and also had the Boston crème pie.
Monday morning we made one last visit to the Charles River and then we were back to our hotel to checkout and leave for the
airport.
We decided that we would have to come back to Boston someday. Till then....the pictures and the memories will stay with us.

Wonderful newsy report!! You really know how to make the most of a visit!!
Just one suggestion for future posts. You have so much great info, but it would be easier to read and take in if you break it up some by hitting "enter" a few times between some of your many interesting details.
That way there will be some spaces for those of us, who are less energetic than you, to take a breath between activities......
I echo yk and hope that you will come back, if not to Boston, to other places that you can tell us about.
