Boston Transportation From Downtown to Logan EARLY AM

I'm trying to book a return flight for my daughter from Boston to the Bay Area (CA). Ideally, an early am flight (6:30) would work best so she can get home at a decent hour. She's telling me that she will not be able to take the T as it doesn't run before 6AM. Just looked it up and she is correct. Do you know of an alternative mode of transport to the airport other than a cab? (By the way, what would that cost?) Her friends do not have a car.

A cab is the best alternative; what have you got against it? As your daughter can probably tell you, the airport in Boston is just a couple of miles from downtown, not a huge long expensive ride.

an early morning cab from downtown should only cost about $15....but that is downtown....do you mean downtown or from BU or some other college or place...that would be more, but under $25...

there are vans from some of the hotels but i do not know their costs....they are private, not hotel owned...

why not have her take a slightly later flight?

My daughter always runs into this problem, as she is coming to Hawaii and usuallly needs to connect in NYC or Chicago. Also, the early flights are often cheaper. Only option for her has been a cab at about $30 from BU.

A cab is really your best bet. I doubt it will cost as little as $15 (as there is a $6.50 airport toll) but depending on where she's located it may be in the $20-$30 range.

Thanks to all. I'll book the early flight and tell her a cab is the way to go.
