the fastest way from boston to STAMFORD, CT is to take the mass pike to I-84 west to I-91 south to route 15 south (otherwise known as both the wilbur cross pkwy and the merritt pkwy) rte 15 south takes you directly to stamford and is nice bc it has no commercial verhicles. rte 15 runs parallel to I-95 once you get to the new haven area, so if you want to cross over to I-95, route 8 or route 7 connect route 15 with I-95. karen

3 hours, 15 min comfortably, if there is no traffic. virtually anyway you go, you will hit traffic weekdays before 9 am going TOWARDS stamford (as it is also TOWARDS NYC), but weekends are fine. and going in the reverse direction towards boston, beware if you leave stamford after 4pm on a weekday. karen
