Boston - Shear Madness?
Hi, has anyone seen Shear Madness in Boston? What did you think? My husband and I love the theater. Would this be a fun night out for us when we visit Boston in September? Thanks for any info. you can provide.
Also, is this in a venue where you dress up, or is it casual? Thanks!

its been a few years since we went...Shear Madness has been running forever. But we really did enjoy it. I think it makes a fun night out.
its a pretty casual venue. actually, hardly anybody dresses up in Boston. Its not as formal a city as New York, even. With very few exceptions, "business casual" is the norm all over.

"Shear Madness" is great fun! There are nearly always tickets 1/2 price at Bostix. See http://www.artsboston.org/tickets/lo...odaysshows.asp

Another vote that it is lots of fun and laughs -
we've seen it a few times over the past ten years - it is a very, very casual venue - you could wear jeans, sandals and a nice top - it's not set up like a traditional theater, more like cocktail lounge meets dinner theater (drinks are served, or were when we went)
It's a small venue, so you feel like you are really almost part of the stage and they do ask for a raise of hands, who thinks this one did it, anyone have a better clue (for those who want to partiicpate but no one is forced to participate) - gave it all sort of a community theater feel to it all - intimate and fun
So if you are looking for 'theater' with standard seating and a different experience, then this may not be what you want.

Oh, perfect - that sounds like exactly what we're looking for - just something fun and casual to do on vacation. I'm definitely going to look into getting us tickets. Thanks for the great information. I love the idea that the audience gets to interact.

I saw it with relatives visiting town, a few years ago. I thought the script was *slightly* outdated (there were Monica Lewinsky jokes....years after her 15 minutes of fame) but overall the cast was very talented and it was a fun experience.
They might have updated the script since then, and regardless it is a fun time, worth it especially if you get discounted tickets.
