Boston Parking by T
We'll be arriving (via the Pike) in Boston on Thursday, Sept 10 around 11 am. What's the best place to park to take public transportation. We want to get to the Aquarium, so T information would be appreciated. Thanks

The 2 possible T Stations are Riverside and Woodland.
Riverside is located near the junction of Mass Pike & Rt 128. It is also the LAST STOP of the D Line of the Green Line. It has 925 spaces, however, there's a good chance it'll be full at 11am.

Woodland is the next stop from Riverside. It has 548 spaces and you may be lucky. http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_ma...&lng=-71.24434
I suggest you give both stations a call during the week (preferably around 11am) to find out from the attendants how full the parking is.
HOWEVER, please realize that you will be spending the next 45 minutes on the Green Line train to get to the Aquarium. It's a long ride.
If there are several of you, you may want to just pay parking near Aquarium. I know it's expensive, but when you deduct the T fare and the 90+ minutes you waste on the train, you may find it's "worth it".
One other option is the RT 128 Commuter Rail station. http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_ma...ns/?stopId=178
This has over 2500 parking spaces which makes me think you have a better chance of finding a spot there. However, your schedule will be limited to the commuter rail schedule, which runs much less frequent than the Green D Line (every 5-10 minutes). Plus, commuter rail fare is a lot more expensive than the T, so I don't think you'll be saving any money by parking there instead of at the Aquarium.

If you're taking the Pike into the Copley area, there are several parking garages available. There's one adjacent to the Back Bay Train Station. The entrance is on Clarendon Street. You would then take the Orange line from Back Bay then change to the Blue Line to get to the Aquarium stop (or you could get off at the Orange Line Haymarket stop and walk (about 10 Minutes - nice walk along the Rose Kennedy Greenway.) I agree with the above poster, though. It will definitley add some time to your trip. The Commuter Rail from 128 Station will take you into South Station, and the Aquarium is another 10-15 minute walk from there. If it's a weekend, the Commuter Rail schedule is very limited.

But don't park at the Aquarium garage itself. It has horrible rates, and you kick into the 24 hour price much more quickly than lots that serve working people. The whole thing is apparently designed to trap families who have been in the car so long that they are desperate.
Both North Station (Boston Garden) and the Common Garage have relatively decent rates. You can walk from the Common to the Aquarium or take the Green Line from either the Common or North Station to Government Center where you change for the Blue Line toward the airport. It is only a few stops.
