Boston Hotel

My daughter will be dancing at the Boston Ballet this summer and we will be going out to meet her in July when she finishes her program. She is staying at a dorm at BU and dancing at 19th and Clarendon Street. Can anyone recommend a hotel either near the Ballet or BU? Something close to transportation and about $150 or so per night.

We're all going to sound like broken records here, but you'll get more for your money (or you can stay longer) if you use Hotwire or Priceline. Both BU and Clarendon Street are in the Back Bay area. Right now, Hotwire is offering a 4* hotel in Back Bay July weekends for $92/night. It's probably the Sheraton or Hilton (no guarantee, though), both of which are terrific and fantastically located. I've booked through Hotwire for Boston many times and have always been thrilled with the hotel (more thrilled than with Priceline, though I've gotten somewhat lower rates with Priceline).

If you're not positive you're going, shop like the dickens, book something you can cancel, then check Hotwire and Priceline closer to departure.

Dorm at 19th (there is no 19th street) and Clarendon, would it be the Y? I do know where the Boston Ballet is and you might search out bread and breakfasts in the area.

There is a bread and breakfast on Newbury St. Only Minutes away from Clarendon,
I forget the name but it's above their
Morrocan resto.

There is no 19th & Clarendon - The Ballet Building is warren and clarendon. Any Hotel in the SOuth End, Back Bay, or Park Square would work fine for you. Priceline and Hotwire are always good, and if not the Chandler Inn is the closest, and quite reasonable (though nothing special)

Are you sure she is dancing at the ballet building? Many of their performances are held elsewhere. But the above locations will suit any conceivable dance location.

Thanks for the info. The ballet company said she would stay at Boston University and they would transport her to the Boston Ballet for classes so I assumed it was the same place as the mailing address - 19 Clarendon.
I will look in the South End, Back Bay, Park Square area for hotels. Thanks for the help.

We are staying in the Sheraton Back Bay which is connected to the Prudential Center- Prime location-right near Newbury St...

They also have a direct booking with the hotel- a 21 day advance purchase( NOT refundable) which is way way lower than priceline or the hotel weekend rates....

The Best Western Terrace Inn is just 2 miles from BU, and the green line trolley is just around the corner from the hotel.
