They changed my flight (after I paid extra to get a flight with a great schedule - but oh well ) Anyway, I am now going to be arriving in Boston at 3:30 (unless they change it again) so I won't get to my B&B until apprx. 5-5:30(maybe even 6) ... Then I need at least 30mins to settle in.

What is there to do in Davis Sq. after 7 (besides eat - which I am probably going to have to do)? I guess maybe I'll just get something to eat close to the B&B and then go back - I'm probably going to be tired (I'll be coming from my first week of vacation in Toronto)

Will any stores be open or anything?

I'm in Central Square area but I know that the bookstore is open late.

How old are you?? I will ask my 20 something Tufts graduate for more info if it is relevant to your interests....As you probably know, Davis Square is, among other things, the main "campus town" for Tufts University.

I've been there a few times. Compared to downtown Boston or Cambridge, it's not that interesting, but there are a few places to explore. It's biggest clain to fame (I think) is Johnn'y D's nightclub, which often features top name blues, reggae, rock, etc. Also in the same vein, one of the largest used cd stores anywhere is right off the square. I believe it's called Disk Diggers. Hopefully they're still in business!

Diesel is the coffee shop in the square. Its open and busy at night. JP Licks has great ice cream. Don't eat at Redbones - its a rib place with less than appealing food. Ate there Saturday night and was disappointed. The Burren is an Irish pub known for its seisuns.

Some possibilities:
1)The Burren, The Joshua Tree -- great Irish pubs--also have food
2)2nd run movies--as well as an occasional new release--at the Theater
3)of course, you can always take the red line to Harvard Square

The Someday Cafe is a popular hangout as well. The Somerville Theater has movies and sometimes has live music. If you like comedy - Jimmy Tingle's Off Broadway is in the Square as well.

As for the comments about Redbones, I have to disagree - I really like the place. I come back to visit the area especially to have their corn pudding and check out their excellent beer selection. To each his own. Love the ice cream at JP Licks.

I liked Redbones beer selection too - especially the $2 16 oz can of Schiltz - very retro. But the brisket was inedible and the Memphis ribs dry and lacking any flavor. Dirty rice was good as was the slaw but it was buried under the meat on a too small plate.

Good to know JP Licks is in Davis - had no idea. That definitely seems like a winner!! I was also thinking Tu y Yo for dinner.

I guess I'll just walk around I'll probably be too tired for a long night anyway.

Another vote for Redbones! Love the food there!

Tufts has quite a nice campus, and it's a 10-minute walk from Davis Sq. It's worth checking out (in my somewhat biased opinion.)

I LOVE Redbones. Redbones and the Burren makes a great night for me.
