Boston Business Trip..any evening ideas and restaurants?

Hello All
I am staying at the Marriott Kendal Sq Cambridge Hotel next week.
Can anyone recommend something for me to do in the late afternoon early evening?
I seem to remember most of the museums close at 4 or 5pm. Are any open later perhaps?
As well can anyone recommend and good mom/pop restaurants in the Kendall Square area.. I remember a nice middle eastern place not far away and I liked Asgard pub as well..
Anyone know of anything else?
Thanks for the help!

The Museum of Fine Arts is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays until 9:45 pm. The New England Aquarium is open Saturdays and Sundays until 6 pm. The Museum of Science is open until 9 pm on Fridays. Faneuil Hall Marketplace is open until 9 pm every day except Sundays, when it closes at 6 pm. The Institute of Contemporary Art is open until 9 pm on Thursdays and Fridays.

Try to hit the Italian district, near Quincy Mkt...Great restaraunts, several to choose from. On a recent trip, the restaraunts had lines waiting to get into them at 9pm...on a Tuesday! Subway is easy/cheap to navigate.

For Kendall Square area food: Atasca is an excellent Portuguese option. Friendly Toast is a fine choice for breakfast or lunch. Emma's Pizza does a very good ultra-thin crust version of this food type with very unusual toppings. Blue Room does an especially good brunch and serves other meals as well. Helmand is further away over by the Galleria Mall but does first-rate Afghan food (open for dinner only). Hungry Mother is supposed to be excellent, though I haven't been.

Over in or near Inman Square (take a cab or bus from Kendall) are Oleana (creative Middle Eastern influenced dining), East Coast Grill (excellent seafood and BBQ), Montien (good Thai food), Muqueca (Brazilian seafood stews), Midwest Grill (Brazilian rodizio meat BBQ), and another good Portutguese place in Casa Portugal.

The Italian district buckeye82 is referring to is the North End, and there are scads of Italian places there (many are good, some are tourist traps). Check out my aging but still useful research on the area here:

I did not suggest the Legal Seafoods in Kendall Square because it's not one of the more reliably good outposts of this chain, in my experience. Arguably the best traditional seafood spot in Boston is Neptune Oyster in the North End.

You'll find Boston eateries are reasonably well covered on this forum, and a search will likely bring up other possibilities.

EVOO, in its new location, is a very short walk from your hotel. It's a nice restaurant, not terribly expensive, and specializes in local foods when available.

All great suggestions. I love Atasca, and your expense account will, too.

If you like thin crust pizza, Emma's is fantastic. And a scene.

I also strongly recommend, so strongly that I would pick you up at your hotel and drive you there myself if I were in town, is East Coast Grill. If you like spicy food; if you don't, forget about it.

They will call you a cab back to the hotel if you ask. Chris Sleschinger, the owner, is a TV chef who actually works in his own restaurant.
