bookit.com HORRIBLE

I booked a trip in June of 2012 with bookit.com and have had nothing but issues with the booking. First I never received a conformation email. When I did It said to follow the link and view my reservation. Because the website was not working (remember that excuse) I could not login. After days and hours on hold I finally got to view my itinerary. It looked OK but we had to make a change to the hotel. Once this was done the reservation became a huge mess. Our airport to hotel transfers were canceled. Another problem with the website. I called 3 times to clear it up and again hours on the phone with bookit.com to no avail because their website wasnt working right. Our flights were not on the new reservation and NOTHING was on my account when I logged in to again view the reservation again the website wasnt working right. They assured me the Activity Cancled did not mean it was canceled, they could see it in their system their website wasnt working right. The only thing that was on the website was the cancellation of the entire trip. I asked many times to speak to a supervisor to no avail. I FINALLY got intouch with a supervisor only to find out the person wasnt a supervisor she "works with" the supervisors. SHE canceled the reservation that I could not see in my account and rebooked. GUESS What it didnt work!!!! I have no reservation and still connot speak to a supervisor!!!!!!!!!
The annoying "you know what to do, bookit.com" was obnoxious because if I could login to manage the trip on my own it wouldn't have been such a disaster. When I addressed the hold times for the calls I was told they are at peak season...dah! Really? So I have to hold for 45 minutes because your company cant handle the call volume? I suggest they hold off on hiring those extra staff to handle the call volume because with this level of customer service they wont need to worry for very long. I had two more people who were going to book..they will be going through another agency.

Thanks for the warning. After reading your post, I researched bookit.com on the web and found that others have had problems of the kind you report.

As Forrest Gump says "Stupid is as stupid does".

You are a one time poster with a BIG complaint. Why did you think an out-of-the-mainstream agency would be help to your stupidity?

Forgive me for being negative, but, as Dylan once said, "you have to pay to not go through these things twice".

Get the point?

I find it almost as hard to read your post as you found it to use bookit.com

"I NEVER received a confirmation email." "When I did. . ." HUH?

"we had to make a change to the hotel. Once this was done the reservation became a huge mess. Our airport to hotel transfers were canceled." Again, HUH? If you changed the hotel wouldn't the transfers to the old hotel have to be cancelled?

But overall, I can't imagine why after half these problems you didn't just cancell the trip with them and go another route like the other people you have were going to do. Meanwhile, I'm a little confused if this trip was in June -- or did you just mean you booked it in June. But if it hasn't happened yet, I assume you HAVE cancelled since you say "I have no reservation and still connot speak to a supervisor!!!!!!!!!"

You've just reminded me why I nearly always book trips directly, not with these horrible agencies.

Sorry you're having so much trouble with a booking agency. Even the best fail sometimes. I once arrived in Milan, Italy, and the hotel claimed they had no reservation from me. It's an awful feeling.

So, if you haven't done the trip already, do as Neopatrick has suggested and cancel everything with bookit and then make the reservations yourself directly with the airlines and with the hotels.

Good luck!
