Book

This is completely off topic...but i need help. I always wander into Barnes & Noble/Borders and find books that are interesting and then forget the titles/authors.

There is one in particular that I have been searching for the past years. The book was about a young boy having to live with his eccentric aunt. I know it is a well-known book that was written in the 60s/70s perhaps.

Does anyone have any clue to the title/author?

You might be thinking of Patrick Dennis's "Auntie Mame", though it was first published in 1955.

Auntie Mame? The movie was great- Rosalind Russel was the aunt.

A librarian doing a subject search on any catalog database could help you in minutes. See the thread on this board about the database Novelist. Depending on where you live, follow the directions. You could get a list of all books with that plot line/subject focus within minutes.
