Blue Ridge, GA

My family and I are planning a trip to the Blue Ridge, GA area in mid-April. I'd like some ideas of things to do in the area. Already have a rafting trip planned, along with a side trip to Chattanooga, TN. Thanks.

There is a damn nearby. You might like to visit the tail of the dragon, in Robbinsville NC, an 11 mile stretch with over 300 twists and turns. Rent a boat on the big lake in Hiawassee Ga. Murpyh NC is nearby and its a nice little mountain town with good restaurants.
Drive to the top of Brasstown bald. There are several horse rental places in the area also.

Wilobe -

How old are the kids? That will help with suggestions on what to do.
Downtown Blue Ridge has the scenic railway which is really nice, and there's loads of places to go horseback riding.
Where are you staying?

The children are 2 and 3, so they're rather young. Thanks for all the suggestions. I've never heard of the Tail of the Dragon before. Sounds like something my husband and I would enjoy while the younger ones do something more physical. We've already intended on a trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville.

You could hike. There are lots of trails in the area. In fact, the Appalachian trail starts just SE of Ellijay, GA, which is SW of Blue Ridge.
