Blue Man Group or Other Ideas

Hi! Another Blue Man Group question. I'm going to be in Chicago over New Years with my hubby, two teens and Mom (who lives there) and we're thinking of seeing the Blue Man Group. Seating appears to be open. In fact, when I looked on the ticketmaster website, we could get front row left seats. I have a few questions:
I hear one gets splattered in the front row. How bad is that? Can one see the stage well from the front row, or visibility limited by the stage above? What are the "best" seats?

Also, and here's the biggie, would my 80 year old mother enjoy the show? She is very active and involved in the community, but I'm not sure how she'd take to the energy and noise level.

We've thought of Second City but I'm afraid the satire might leave my kids lost. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Blue Man Group is fab...don't know that you want front row, however. Sitting about 1/4 to 1/2 way back is best, but they do so much all OVER the stage that you probably get good views from almost anywhere. It's noisy, but Mom might enjoy it anyway.

I enjoyed Blue Man Group but would never want to sit in the front row. I think they give raincoats to the first 10-20 rows (not sure the exact number). I would want a seat a little further back than that. My husband and teenage son loved it and would love to go back again. I can not imagine my 80 year old grandmother enjoying so I guess it depends on your mother. I don't even think my 60 year old mother would enjoy it.

Another great option is to sit in the balcony. We sat up there and got to actually see what was going on (as opposed to being part of it...). Front row towards the stage is where we sat, terrific seats!

In Chicago, first five rows get ponchos. I was in row six last summer and stayed dry!
