Blue Angels in San Francisco

are in training right this moment, somehow not as loud and scary as they were in the past. I'm in downtown near the Pyramid. Who else can hear?

The fun will last for 3 days with flying, ship parade, and what not!

Also this weekend is Italian parade, Polish festival, Comedy day... and more, more!

Yes, I'm over by the Bay Bridge part of the Embarcadero - and heard them awhile ago - and then saw them practicing while I went for lunch.

I don't think anything will top the day I was working from home and stepped out onto the roof (flat) and saw one of them fly over, banking to the left - so close that I could actually see the pilot inside.

I used to live 1/2 way between Miramar's W end and the Ocean in the 70's and when those guys practiced, I though they were coming through the roof - the F-18s are nearly silent compared to the F-4s and the operational F 14s we lived with 24/7 long ago.

I was lucky to be in SF in Oct. 03 when they were there. We climbed to the top of Telegraph Hill to watch them - they were awesome! I live in Concord, MA and Hanscom Air Force Base had them one year for an air show. Our house is across the street from some open fields and we had a direct view of them. One flew so low and close over our house that we could see the fire coming out of the back of the plane! I still get chills thinking about it. Enjoy! I am so envious.....Hanscom doesn't have the air show anymore. Too many people complained, for political and other reasons.

Hi Faina, I just posted on the Where is Booted thread that in the last hour I have received 2 strange emails. No subject and when I click on Properties no return email address. OMG, is that from our dear Kal, LOL? You think?

How long is the movie playing at the Embarcadero?

LoveItaly, I think you give him too much credit This must be from somebody sophisticated (no, I wouldn't do this to you!!)

I don't know how long it will be, and it will be all over Bay Area. The movie is "everything is illuminated" and playing now @CineArts in Pleasant Hill, Marin, Rialto Cinemas Lakeside - tried to look it up closer to you. Also other locations.

We visited last year during Fleet Week and found a good viewing area from Alcatraz. It's isn't nearly as crowded as the pier area. Enjoy!

From a lifelong Steelers fan, I say: "Go Chahgahs!" Beating the Oakland Faders should be simple.

Meanwhile, y'all missed a great comedy show in GG Park. Robin Williams made an unscheduled appearance. We all know he owns a home not far... so, it wasn't really unexpected. That said, 20 comedians put on an excellent free show.

Uhhhhhh, Pis? Which one were you?

How coool!
In Florida, we were across the river from the Naval Air Station. The Blue Angels would fly over our house and train. So we got to see our own private shows. Every October they do a show for a whole weekend, it thrills me every time!
I love the noise they make, the way they fly so close together..I loved the way they would fly 3 or 4 in a line so close together and would tip their wings!!
I am such a sucker for this sort of thing
Have fun watching!
