Bart, that is the best trip report I have read! Thanks for the laughs!
P.S. I met a cocktail waitress yesterday at the Mirage Dolphin Bar and we went out for drinks last night. She was telling me that she had just gone to see Mystere with a "cousin" of hers that flew in from Illinois last week. It can't be the same person though, because my cocktail waitress is going by the name of GiGi...this week.

Thanks for all your kind responses; I almost feel bad for being so mean on other people's threads. Black_Bart is blushing.
I wish I could take credit for the ingenious "sequel" thread but I can't. All I can say is, "Why, Tara, why"!? That thread is hysterical.
GoTravel: you're not going to believe this but I think what won Tara over in the first place was the fact that I asked her if her last name was "Ra-boom-dee-ay". She had never heard it before and though I was funny. Don't know how it's all going to pan out yet.
Miss Scarlett: We have never met before because I have never been to either Portland or a Fodor's GTG. My first name in the "real world" does start with a "D" but since I have never used any name on this site that began with a D, I don't know how you might know that.
Patrick: Amen, brother.
Thanks again to all for your encouragement.

Charmed to make your acquaintance, Miss Scarlett (removing new Panama hat here).
Perhaps we will have the opportunity to meet at a GTG some day.
You were quite fast with the "Tara" reference, BTW.

Never read this before today and glad someone has topped. I really enjoyed this trip report, Black Bart.
Actually, I was made a terrific offer yesterday for a Vegas trip and I think your report has made me decide. It's been a bunch of years now, so I'm going back to Vegas in early Dec. Aladdin deal is GOOD.
Just think how much fun it would have been if you actually won some of the time!
Afraid to ask, but if you read this at any time- did Tara ever come to see you?
